The seed for my firm’s vision was planted on April 26, 2004, when I was arrested and spent time in jail accused of committing a crime I did, in fact, commit. 22 years old at the time, I experienced so many of the emotions my firm’s clients have when they are under investigation or have been arrested: fear, anxiety, shame, and a genuine concern for the future.
Although my freedom and future hung in the balance, I was treated fairly by the criminal justice system and was assisted, both emotionally and financially, by supportive family and friends. Few individuals facing criminal charges are that fortunate.
This entire experience solidified an already strong desire to become a criminal defense attorney. I have been a licensed attorney in California since 2007, and the Law Office of David P. Shapiro has been helping good people regain control of their future when charged with a crime since 2010.
As a contributing member of the San Diego Attorney Alliance, our entire firm is with and for you when you need us. I have assembled a full team of attorneys and assistants aligned with my principles, which include always giving honest answers, presenting clear explanations, and providing unparalleled service. We have obtained not guilty verdicts and dismissals from misdemeanor DUIs to murder charges.
